Michael holds a degree in Fashion Illustration from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and has an extensive background in commercial art, advertising, and children’s book illustration. She has been a full time painter for over 30 years and has had over 40 solo shows. While being primarily a watercolor artist she also works in acrylic, pen and ink and is well known for exquisite wall murals.
After living, traveling, and painting all around the world she has settled in the Lowcountry of South Carolina where her painting has become dedicated to the beauty of the area’s scenery, flowers and people. Her varied experience includes gallery ownership, workshop instructor and judge for both watercolor and mixed media shows. Michael is a member of the National League of American Pen Women, The Transparent Watercolor Society of America, past Regional Director for the South Carolina Watermedia Society, former President and Life Member of both The Hawaii and Georgia Watercolor Societies and served two years as president of Beaufort Art Association. She is represented by the Beaufort Art Association Gallery in Beaufort and Pluff Mudd Art in Bluffton.
